Sustainability begins with packaging that can be effectively processed after use. A major advantage of mono-material PE packaging is that it consists entirely of a single type of material. This makes it easier to collect, sort, and recycle the packaging within existing plastic recycling streams.
In the case of a paper bag with a plastic liner, paper and plastic are combined, making recycling more complex. A 100% PE package therefore often offers a future-proof solution within the circular economy and fully complies with the upcoming PPWR legislation (EU) 2025/40.

Thanks to the high barrier properties, product quality is better preserved during storage and transport.

PE bags are generally lighter than comparable paper bags with a liner. This yields significant advantages for large volumes.

4. High strength and tear resistance

PE is distinguished by its high stretchability and tear resistance. As a result, the packaging remains more intact during handling, palletizing, and transport.
For sectors where packaging is used intensively, this means less waste and greater supply reliability.
5. Less material for the same performance
Thanks to the mechanical properties of PE, the same level of protection can often be achieved with less material than with a heavier paper construction.
That results in:
- More efficient use of materials
- Reduced packaging weight
- Fewer waste streams
- A lower logistics burden
After all, smart packaging does not use more material than necessary.
